If you have a valid Mecenat card with the SL logo you are entitled to use the SL student discount.
Important - Please note the following:
- You need to be able to show a valid Mecenat card with the SL logo on it to use the discount. If you do not you may be fined.
- SL does not check if you have a valid card when you purchase the card, it is up to you to make sure you have a valid card before using the discount.
Who is entitled to the SL symbol?
To be entitled to have the SL logo on your Mecneat card and use the discounts you need to fulfill the following requirements:
- Study at an education that is entitled to student aid from CSN (Note - you do not need to be entitled to the aid personally, it is just that the education needs CSN's approval).
- Be registered for at least 75% of a full semesters activity.
This corresponds to
- 22,5 points for studies at University level.
- 300 points for studies at Komvux.
- 75 points for studies at YH.
Important note
SFI and other educations that do not entitle to CSN also do not entitle to the Studentresesymbolen discount.
High School (Gymnasiet)
Before 20 years of age you count as youth and do not need SL's logo on your Mecenat card.
When you turn 20 you no longer count as youth. If you have a High School digital Mecenat card it is automatically upgraded to the SL logo on your 20th birthday.
